Highgate Hospital wanted to improve patient stay and create a better working environment for their staff. We were hired to make this a reality by remodelling existing areas of the hospital and to construct the new recovery suite.
Highgate Hospital were keen to upgrade their facilities so that they were in line with modern standards in private healthcare. They approached Davis Construction with the remit of remodelling existing areas of the hospital and to create the new recovery suite.
The work was carried out in an active hospital, next to theatres. It was crucial that patients were not disturbed so noise levels had to be carefully controlled. Davis Construction begun by knocking through an interior wall to make two rooms into one larger area, reducing levels in one area by 600mm and damp-proofing the new area in preparation for a floor screed. Following this, we continued the project with a new nurse call system, medical gas installation and a new nurse base desk. Shutdown of these existing services had to be well-managed to prevent disturbing other areas of the hospital. The project was completed with new LED lighting, air conditioning and decoration, along with the supply and installation of new plastic-wrapped hygienic doors. Rubbish removal was completed out of hours to prevent disruption to staff and alleviate the risk of dust and dirt from getting in theatres.
The works were successfully carried out by Davis Construction within the 12-week timeframe, helping to improve patient stay as well as creating a better working environment for staff of the hospital.
